Reflections of the Cretaceous on Flickr.Crocodilians first showed up in the late Cretacious period, thus the name. This guy was just hanging out in his shady pool watching the world go by. I could maybe have given him a little space in front and maybe tried for a slightly better composition but i was already getting dirty looks from the family for holding up their progress.

Aston Martin DB9 on Flickr. This is a car model which I tried to shoot to look like a real one. Things I’ve learnt from this:
- the more realistic the model the better the illusion.
- look at more car photos before doing this to get an idea how they’re lit.
- dust the car before your final shot.

alone in the dark on Flickr.Via Flickr:
a small paper boat afloat on a sea of dark emotions.
had to hide the flash in post since my improvised snoot lit up like a lantern.
yes this is cliched. I’ve also shot something similar before but that image didn’t quite fit with what I had in my head.

I spent the weekend in the midlands in KwaZulu-Natal along with my lovely wife. This was the view from the hotel we were staying at down into the valley. (HDR show composited in photoshop elements)

minimalist coffee on Flickr.Via Flickr:
in my head I wanted this coffee to have crema on the top but since I don’t possess an espresso machine thats not likely to happen. I may have to revisit this shot in future to get it exactly how I want it. A sunnier morning might have helped too.

hot broccoli on Flickr.Via Flickr:
This is almost entirely in camera (I only adjusted exposure a fraction and cropped it slightly). Snooted speed-light at 1/32 (I think) off to the right. the glass underneath gives the reflection (a black wooden board under the glass helps),
